Iu2019m Ayodeji Paul Ajadi, a storyteller, playwright, and director based in Lagos. I translate West African cultural themes into emotionally urgent dramas for stage and screen.
Operating from the creative epicenter of Lagos, Nigeria, Ajadi has spent his career developing narratives that challenge traditional institutions, expose the consequences of enforced silence, and unpack the intricate dynamics of familial duty. Operating under the moniker Ayodeji Paul in his early live theatre career, he has directed notable stage plays including Olurumbi and Boys in the Band, and co-authored the period romantic drama screenplay Myrtle’s First Love. He is a screenwriting alumnus of the EbonyLife Creative Academy (9th Intake) and the inaugural winner of the Wole Oguntokun Legacy Award (WOLA).
